Man, 19, Arrested In San Bernardino County Bomb Threats

SAN BERNARDINO (AP) — Authorities have arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of calling in bomb threats to a hospital and a high school.

Loma Linda University Medical Center was searched Tuesday after a male suspect called and said he was "making a bomb and the hospital better be ready." Minutes later Grand Terrace High School was evacuated after someone called to report a bomb on campus.

No suspicious devices were found.

Sheriff's investigators tracked both calls to the same phone number and eventually arrested Phelan resident John Davis on suspicion of making false bomb threats. Officials say the phone used to make the threats was found in his possession.

Davis is being held Wednesday in lieu of $25,000 bail. It wasn't immediately known if he has a lawyer.
