Man, 18, Accused Of Sexting 9 Girls From Big Bear

BIG BEAR (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say an 18-year-old man is accused of sending sexually explicit messages to nine female juveniles in Big Bear.

Jaime Lopez was booked Thursday into Big Bear Jail on suspicion of multiple felony counts, including sending harmful matter with the intent to seduce a minor and contacting a minor with the intent for sexual acts.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said in a written statement that Lopez allegedly sent the messages via text and social media to the girls.

The alleged recipients included students at Big Bear Middle School and Big Bear High School, according to the statement.

Authorities attributed good parenting and good instruction from school staff members for bringing the messages to light.

Lopez is expected to be arraigned on Sept. 22 and 23. Meanwhile, he remains jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail.
