Mammoth Resorts Acquire Bear Mountain And Snow Summit Ski Resorts

BIG BEAR (CBSLA.com) — Mammoth Mountain Ski Area will acquire Big Bear Mountain Resorts and launch a new season pass for all its properties, the company announced Wednesday.

The $38 million deal includes both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit resorts, the largest and most popular of Southern California's ski and snowboard resorts, which host nearly 800,000 winter visits annually, along with a golf course, driving range and parking lots.

"We couldn't be more excited to enter into this agreement with Big Bear Mountain Resorts. These two uniquely southern California resorts have been providing great skiing, riding and biking experiences to visitors from California and beyond," said Rusty Gregory, Chairman and CEO of Mammoth Mountain.

New expansion and construction projects are expected to be announced in the coming months for all of the resorts, which also includes June Mountain in the Sierras.

A new season pass that includes unrestricted access to all four mountains will be available on Sept. 27. The Cali4nia Pass will be on sale online at a cost of $689 for adults.
