Malibu Opens Dedicated Lane For Bicyclists

MALIBU (AP) — Malibu, the city best known for celebrities and surfers, is making way for bike riders.

City News Service says officials on Wednesday celebrated the opening of the city's first-ever dedicated bike lane.

The six-foot-wide lane runs for two miles along Zuma Beach and parallels the scenic Pacific Coast Highway.

It's open to bikes only.

Improvements also were unveiled to a seven-mile stretch of PCH that allows both bikes and cars.
