Make El Tepeyac's Signature Dishes For Cince De Mayo!

STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Joey Duran, owner of El Tepeyac, and Carlos Thome, manager of El Tepeyac, stopped by KCAL9 Friday to show viewers how to make a couple of their signature dishes.

Here are some of the dishes they shared:

Machaca

Cut up onions, tomatoes, jalapenos and put them in a pan to sauté.  While the veggies are cooking, throw shredded beef (which has been boiled) into the deep fryer for about a minute. Then add the meat to the veggies. Beat a couple of eggs and mix them with the meat and veggie mixture. Let it all cook together for a few minutes then add shredded cheddar cheese.  Once the cheese has melted it is ready to serve. Plate it with rice and beans and a side salad garnish.

Manuel Special Burrito

It was originally created for some very hungry football players. Start with 4 warm flour tortillas and layer them, then layer with refried beans, rice, a whole lot of  chile verde (El Tepeyac's chile verde: cut and fry the meat carnita style and combine it with their special sauce). Once the burrito is rolled, top it with cheddar cheese and then more chile verde.

Bay of Pigs

Rim the glass with Tajin, lime chile and salt seasoning.  Add ice and a spritz of fresh lime juice, Worchester sauce and Tapatio hot sauce.  Fill with your favorite beer and top off with Clamato.  Then drink and enjoy!
