Major Fundraiser Held In North Hollywood For Individuals With Developmental Disabilities

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Robin Trocki, born with Down's Syndrome, now has Alzheimer's and requires a wheelchair.

A few years ago, Trocki was full-time actress, playing the character Sue Sylvester sister's on the hit TV show "Glee".

She credits her stage confidence to the experience she's gotten at the ARC-- which stands for Activities, Recreation and Care for individuals with developmental disabilities.

On Saturday night, the Center hosted a Coffee House and Music Festival Party to raise funds.

The stage, among other items, was donated by CBS2 and KCAL9, which recently hosted "Stephanie's Day" for autism awareness -- an event the ARC participated in.

Saturday's benefit hopes to generate enough to keep up activities like camping, basketball, and swimming.

The ARC is looking to raise $1.5 million over the next five years to expand it's day program and housing services in North Hollywood.
