Magnitude 4.1 Quake Strikes Near Joshua Tree

LUDLOW (CBSLA.com) — A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Mojave Desert east of Barstow Sunday morning and it was felt all the way to Orange County.

The epicenter was 5 miles west-southwest of Ludlow, a gas station and motel 51 miles east of Barstow.

People reported they felt the quake in the Coachella Valley, across western Riverside County and as far east as the foothills above Irvine.

There has been a series of small quakes at the same approximate epicenter last week, including a magnitude 3.2 quake last Wednesday and 3.7 and 3.0 quakes on Tuesday.

There were no immediate reports of damages or injuries.
