Magic Johnson First To Put Down Deposit For Rams Season Tickets

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — One of the most recognizable names in Los Angeles sports can't get enough of the local sports scene.

Lakers legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson," who is also part-owner of the Dodgers, was the first person to put down a deposit on 2016 season tickets for the Rams ahead of last week's announcement that they would be returning to the Southland, according to the team's Twitter account.

While Rams season tickets won't be available until later this year, the team offered fans a shot at reserving their spot in line with a $100 deposit.

Within about five minutes of opening up reservations, the Rams had over 5,000 deposits - including one from Magic himself.

In addition to getting seats for the 2016 season, season ticket holders at the Coliseum will also get priority to buy season tickets for the Rams' new stadium in Inglewood, which is due to open in 2019.
