Loyola Marymount Tops Pacific 92-81

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) -- Evan Payne scored 25 points and Anthony Ireland added 24 as Loyola Marymount took down Pacific 92-81 Thursday night.

Loyola Marymount (11-10, 3-6 West Coast Conference) used a 14-1 run in the second half to open a 77-62 lead with 5:11 to go.

The Lions went 18 of 20 from the free throw line over the final 7:22 to hold off Pacific (10-8, 1-6). Loyola Marymount shot 47 percent from the field, including 7 of 14 from long range.

Pacific scored the first five points after halftime to break a tie at 32 and held a slim lead until a 3-pointer from Payne tied the score at 57 with 11:08 left.

C.J. Blackwell added 17 points for the Lions while Gabe Levin had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Ross Rivera led Pacific with 16 points. Tony Gill scored 13 and Sama Taku had 12 points and nine rebounds.
