Lost Dog Walks 35 Miles To Get Back Home Days After Vanishing

CARLSBAD (CBSLA.com) — A dog who vanished last month during a trip to the park has returned home after nine days.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that Georgia, an 8-year-old Shar Pei mix, vanished late-June in Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve.

But on Monday morning, the lost dog hopped onto her sleeping owner's bed.

The publication says the dog managed to walk 35 miles to return to the Carlsbad home.

Georgia's owner, Kris Anderson, couldn't believe it.

Despite the ordeal, a veterinarian says Georgia is doing well.
