Los Angeles To Offer Free Public Wi-Fi At 6 Parks, Beaches

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A day at the park or the beach no longer requires disconnection.

The city of Los Angeles' Department of Recreation and Parks will launch free public Wi-Fi Thursday at six sites – Cabrillo Beach, Echo Park Lake, Griffith Observatory, Pershing Square, Reseda Park and Venice Beach.

The free service, called Oh, Ranger! Wi-Fi, is a pilot program sponsored by Toyota.

Park visitors can visit m.laparks.org on their mobile devices to start using the LA Parks mobile web. The site also allows park visitors to submit service requests directly to the department's construction and maintenance division.
