Authorities are seeking help from the public as they search for the owner of a large stolen bell that was recovered during an investigation in November.

In a special bulletin shared by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, deputies said that a "large ceremonial brass bell" was discovered during a search warrant operation on Nov. 10. They didn't say exactly where the warrant was served.

"Based on its appearance, size, and weight, investigators believe it was likely stolen for its non-ferrous metal composition and potential scrap value," the release said.

Deputies shared several photos of the bell, which was adorned with a large brass eagle.

Anyone with further information on the item or who believes that they know the owner was urged to contact Detective C. Gentner at (562) 946-7893.
