Los Altos Teacher Accused Of Having Affair With 15-Year-Old Student

HACIENDA HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — A Los Altos High School teacher has been arrested on suspicion of having a sexual relationship with a student at the school.

David Park, 37, of Chino Hills was arrested at his home Monday on a variety of sexual-abuse charges, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials said. Park, who is being held on $1 million bail, is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Park worked as a full-time teacher at Los Altos High School since the fall of 2009, sheriff's officials said. Authorities say Park began an inappropriate intimate relationship with a 15-year-old student enrolled in one of his classes from September to November. Acts were committed inside the classroom, after class and at Park's home, sheriff's officials said.

Park has also worked as a "walk-on" football coach in 2007-08 at Ruben Ayala Chino Valley High School in Chino and at Western Christian High School in Upland.

Anyone with information about Park or who believes they may have been a victim can call the Sheriff's Department Special Victims Bureau at (877) 710-5273.
