Los Alamitos Bay Yacht Club Holds Big Fireworks Show Thursday Night

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com)  —   The Los Alamitos Bay Yacht Club had their annual July 3rd Fireworks Show.

Why wait until the 4th?

KCAL9's Serene Branson enjoyed the show along with hundreds of others.

The show is held a day earlier than most -- on purpose.

"It's so fun when it's time with the music," said Jennifer Christopher.

Her son was also a fan.

"I loved the ending," he enthused.

The fireworks are launched from a barge.

"It was a perfect night," said another woman.

The show is put on by the Long Beach Firefighters Memorial Association -- with help from local businesses.

They moved the show to the 3rd, reported Branson, to attract a larger crowd.

"It gives people another night to celebrate," said Tim Isaacson with the Long Beach Firefighters Memorial Association, "It's a freebie if you will."

The event is a fundraiser for the Firefighters Association Fund. Tickets were $30.
