Loose Dog On Runway Causes Minor Flight Delay At LAX

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A dog got loose on a runway at Los Angeles International Airport Tuesday night, which caused one incoming flight and one departing flight to be delayed.

The large boxer dog chewed out of a kennel while awaiting a flight to Paris at 7:23 p.m., according to Nancy Castles, the public relations director of Los Angeles World Airports.

Airport officials were able to capture the dog at a nearby ditch, place it in a repaired kennel and send it off to its destination by 8:30 p.m.

The dog's owner departed in the morning and was unaware of the situation, Castles said.
