Long Beach State Coasts Past UC Davis 79-57

 DAVIS, Calif. (AP) -- A.J. Spencer scored 14 points and Mike Caffey had 13 along with six assists and six rebounds, helping Long Beach State roll past UC Davis 79-57 on Thursday night.

Long Beach State (12-14, 8-4 Big West) shot 54.5 percent from the field and outrebounded the Aggies 39-20. Dan Jennings had 11 points with eight rebounds and Tyler Lamb contributed 11 points.

UC Davis (8-18, 3-8) was held to 20-of-54 shooting (37 percent) and stumbled to a 3-of-22 performance beyond the arc. Corey Hawkins finished with 19 points, going 7 of 9 from the floor, but was the only Aggie in double figures.

The 49ers were nursing a four-point lead late in the first half, but Branford Jones and Spencer each hit 3-pointers to grab a 10-point halftime lead. A 14-2 run to open the second half put them ahead comfortably, 49-27 with 14:41 remaining.
