Long Beach Man Sentenced For Murdering Wife, Trying To Dismember Body

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A 42-year-old man who killed his 59-year-old wife and tried to dismember her was sentenced Tuesday to 50 years to life in state prison.

Kevin Adonis Forrest was found guilty by a jury in September of fatally shooting his wife of 18 years, Kathleen Ann Forrest.

Prosecutors said the victim was stabbed in the chest in what was an apparent attempt to dismember her.

Kevin Forrest called police four days later and admitted to the murder, according to the Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney's Office.

Officers reportedly found his wife's body in a bathtub, along with photos he had taken of the corpse.

Forrest testified in court that his wife had been verbally abusive to him.
