19-Year-Old Father Killed, 3 Men Wounded In Long Beach Shooting

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Tuesday searched for a gunman who fatally shot a man and wounded three others in Long Beach.

Shortly after 8:40 p.m. Monday, officers were sent to the 1200 block of East 17th Street near Alamitos Avenue for report of shots fired, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located four adult men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Paramedics pronounced one of the victims dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

CBS2's Louisa Hodge reported the victim's grandmother confirmed Delon Jackson was 19-years-old. He is survived by his 1-year-old daughter.

Three other men were transported to area hospitals. One of the victims remains listed in critical condition. The other two men are listed in stable condition.

At this time, no suspect description has been provided.

Detectives have not yet recovered any weapons at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing as the motive for the shooting remains unclear.
