Hit-And-Run Driver Wanted For Killing Man In Long Beach

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Police Monday searched for a hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a man in Long Beach.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers were sent around 1:15 a.m. to the 3400 block of East 7th Street for report of a vehicle versus a pedestrian.

Upon their arrival, authorities located an adult man lying in the roadway.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Detectives described the suspect vehicle as a 2006 or 2010 white Chrysler.

Officials have closed 7th Street between Redondo and Obispo avenues until further notice.
