Long Beach Man Charged With Sexual Assault Against Elderly Woman

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A man who allegedly broke into a Harbor City home and sexually assaulted an 88-year-old woman has been charged with multiple felonies, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Emmanuel Stanley Reales, 40, of Long Beach, allegedly forced his way into the home through a sliding door on the morning of June 6 and attacked the woman, who ultimately managed to break free and run to a neighbor's house to call police, according to Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Lee Ashley Cernok.

Reales was arrested two days later and charged with forcible rape, forcible oral copulation and first-degree residential burglary, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors said he has prior convictions for assault with a deadly weapon in 2001 and receiving stolen property in 2007.

He faces 112 years to life in prison if convicted, prosecutors said.

Reales was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Long Beach.
