Local Woman Remembered On First Anniversary Of Paris Terrorist Attacks

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — French President Francois Hollande and Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo unveiled several plaques in honor of the 130 victims of last year's terrorists attacks in Paris.

Most of the victims died at the Bataclan while attending a rock concert. Other somber ceremonies took place across France to mark the first anniversary of the attacks. The only American killed during the Paris attacks was honored Sunday in Long Beach.

Nohemi Gonzalez, 23, was a design student at Cal State Long Beach. She was in Paris on a study abroad program when she was killed. Friends and family gathered to remember her and to see the design work she completed before her tragic death.

Since her death, school officials have honored the El Monte woman for her dedication and hard work in the design department.
