Local Auction House Says It's Selling Watercolor Painted By Adolf Hitler

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An original watercolor purportedly painted by Adolf Hitler is expected to be auctioned off this week.

Nate D. Sanders, an auction house in Los Angeles, says the still-life was painted at or around 1912. The painting depicts a blue ceramic pitcher holding brightly colored flowers.

The Nate D. Sanders website says the piece was painted by Hitler while he lived in Vienna as a struggling artist.

The auction house says the signature "A. Hitler" appears at the bottom right of the painting.

Bidding online begins at $30,000 and will close Thursday.
