Limited-Edition Moschino Barbie Breaks Gender Stereotypes By Featuring Boy In Ad

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The new Moschino Barbie is smashing gender stereotypes by featuring a young boy playing with the doll in their new ad.

The ad marks the first time a boy has ever been featured in a Barbie commercial.

The limited-edition Barbie sold out in less than one hour after going on sale.

Jeremy Scott, Moschino's creative director, says Barbie inspired his high-fashion career, calling her his "ultimate muse."

The ad follows Target's recent move to remove gender-based displays in several departments in its stores, including its Pasadena location.
