5-Year-Old Boy Killed In Leimert Park Shooting

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — A 5-year-old boy was killed Wednesday following a shooting in Leimert Park.

The shooting occurred around 1:10 p.m. in the 2000 block of west Forty-First Street.

The boy was taken to a local trauma center suffering from a gunshot wound. He later succumbed to his injuries.

LAPD officers were on scene investigating.

At the time of the shooting, authorities say the boy was in foster care. His identity is still unknown.
