Legendary Dodgers Announcer Vin Scully To Cut Back On Games In 2015

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Fans of the Los Angeles Dodgers, baseball and sports in general were elated when longtime announcer Vin Scully announced he would return behind the microphone for the 2015 season.

The legendary Scully, who served as Grand Marshal of the 2014 Rose Bowl parade, has called games for the club since 1950, when it played in Brooklyn.

Over the past 65 years, Scully has established himself as likely the greatest sports broadcaster of all time, calling countless great moments and being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

However, the 86-year-old Scully has cut out all road trips east of Arizona, and announced Wednesday that he will cut back a little more on the number games he will call next season.

Scully expects to stay home from some trips to San Francisco, San Diego and Arizona, although he said he will go on those trips if the Dodgers end up being in contention late in 2015.

Altogether, Scully is expected to cut back on roughly 25 percent of games in 2015.
