Spirit Airlines terminal at LAX evacuated for suspicious item investigation

Los Angeles police evacuated Terminal 2 at LAX on Friday night amid an investigation into a suspicious item.

The evacuation happened as Spirit Airlines may cease its operations by Saturday. Officers cleared the scene by 9 p.m., about 30 minutes after the item was reported.
