LAX Pylons Turning Purple Saturday In Honor Of Alzheimer's Action Day

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —    The iconic multicolored pylons at Los Angeles International Airport will stay purple Saturday evening in recognition of Alzheimer's Action Day in California.

Alzheimer's affects 5 million Americans, and 600,000 of them are in California, said Susan Galeas, who heads the California Southern Chapter of the National Alzheimer's Association.

The group maintains a 24-hour helpline at (800) 272-3900.
