LAX-Bound Flight Makes Emergency Landing In Grand Junction, Colo.

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A United Airlines flight headed for LAX from Denver made an emergency landing in Grand Junction, Colorado.

The airline said a medical emergency forced the diversion of Flight 447, but there were also reports of smoke in the cockpit.

At least one passenger tweeted a picture of himself, wearing an air mask, which could mean there was a loss of cabin pressure.

One-hundred fifty passengers and six crew members were evacuated.

Paramedics treated six passengers, and one had to be taken to a hospital.

The airline released this statement:

"After receiving reports of multiple ill customers, our crew deployed the oxygen masks and elected to divert to Grand Junction. Our maintenance team will inspect the aircraft to determine if there were any technical issues."
