Lawndale Woman Gets 9 Years For Murder Plot

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Southern California woman who plotted to kill her daughter's boyfriend has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison.

The Los Angeles Times says Adelina Cristobal was sentenced Friday.

Prosecutors say Cristobal and a friend offered $6,500 to a Los Angeles police detective who was posing as a hit man.

Authorities say the 56-year-old Lawndale woman wanted the man killed because he owed her money, was romantically involved with her daughter and allegedly had threatened her husband.

Cristobal pleaded guilty last year to conspiracy.
