Laurel Canyon Blvd. reopens early after storm preparations
Los Angeles Department of Transportation crews re-opened Laurel Canyon Blvd. about an hour ahead of schedule, at approximately 11 a.m. Wednesday, after the roadway was closed between Mulholland and Hollywood Blvd. for storm preparations.
LADOT officials on Tuesday announced the Wednesday morning closure of Laurel Canyon Boulevard between Mulholland Drive and Hollywood Boulevard from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
LADOT announced Tuesday on Twitter that Laurel Canyon Boulevard would be closed in both directions to prepare for heavy rain expected Wednesday and Thursday.
LADOT crews re-opened Laurel Canyon Blvd. about an hour ahead of schedule, at approximately 11 a.m. Wednesday, after K-rail cement barriers were installed along the sides of the roadway.
The closure affected northbound traffic starting at Hollywood Boulevard, with the southbound closure at Mulholland Drive.

LADOT said the closure would be in effect from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, possibly longer.

In preparation for heavy rain, Laurel Canyon Blvd will be CLOSED in the NB direction starting from Hollywood Blvd.
SB direction will be closed from Mulholland Drive.
Expect delays/use alternate routes.
Closure in effect 8AM - NOON
The area has been subject to landslides and flooding in the past, prompting officials to take action out of an abundance of caution.
