LASD Seeks Public's Help In Finding 2 Suspects Wanted In Murder Of Tow Truck Driver

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Detectives Wednesday asked the public for information leading to the arrests of two men wanted for the murder of a tow truck driver.

Davion Harrison and Derell "DJ" Clark are accused of fatally shooting Steven Dwayne Lawson around 3:50 a.m. on July 27, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

Harrison and Clark watched Lawson legally repossess a vehicle from the 14500 block of South Butler Avenue in Compton and followed him to a nearby 7-Eleven store.

Harrison then got out of his car and fired a shot at Lawson.

Lawson fled the parking lot as the two suspects pursued him.

"The chase continued into the city of South Gate where Davion Harrison and Derell 'DJ' Clark caught up with Mr. Lawson. They shot and killed him as he exited his tow truck," Lt. Dave Dolson said.

The City of South Gate is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Harrison and Clark.

Anyone with information should contact the LASD at (323) 267- 4800.
