2 Arrested In Impersonating Police Officers, Robbing Bicyclist

RANCHO DOMINGUEZ (CBSLA.com) — L.A. County sheriff's deputies have arrested two women accused of impersonating police officers and going on a crime spree in Rancho Dominguez.

Deputies say the suspects had uniforms, handcuffs, zip ties, flashlight and a fake gun, and used a Lexus SUV to drive up to a bicyclist in the 18000 block of Susana Road Friday, claiming to be police officers before handcuffing and robbing the victim.

They're accused of then attempting to rob a pedestrian nearby.

Deputies say the suspects were arrested with the help of surveillance video.

Their identities were not immediately released.
