Las Vegas Man To Be Arraigned For Drunkenly Rear-Ending Jennifer Lopez's Rolls-Royce

VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — A 53-year-old Las Vegas man suspected of drunkenly crashing into singer Jennifer Lopez's Rolls-Royce in Malibu is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.

Robert John Reitz faces a misdemeanor count each of driving under the influence of an alcohol beverage and driving with a .08 percent blood-alcohol.

Authorities say Rietz crashed a pickup truck into the singer-actress's car on Pacific Coast Highway just before 8 p.m. on Sept. 27. Prosecutors say Reitz's blood-alcohol was more than .15 percent.

Actress Leah Remini was driving Lopez's car and stopped at a light near Nobu restaurant when it was rear-ended, according to a post on the singer's Instagram account at the time. Lopez's two children were also in the car, but no one was injured, the singer assured her fans.

"Sitting at a light, Riding high right before some drunk fool rear ended us in my new whip!!! Thank god everyone ok!!!" Lopez wrote in the caption of the photo of her and Remini.

Rietz, charged on Dec. 2, faces a possible maximum sentence of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted.
