1 In Custody After Crowd Becomes Violent In South LA Standoff

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — At least one person was taken into custody Friday in a standoff in a South Los Angeles neighborhood.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crowd had formed around officers as they called for backup shortly after 10 p.m. in the area of East 92nd Street and Hickory Street.

Sky9's Stu Mundel reported from overhead that the group became violent while officers attempted to disperse them from the area.

Mundel said the group may have gathered in the area for a party.

No injuries were reported.
