LAPD Veteran Charged With Faking Military Leave

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A veteran Los Angeles policewoman has been charged with faking military leave to get time off.

Police say Christine Bulicz was charged Monday with felony grand theft and attempted grand theft following an LAPD investigation.

Bulicz, a 15-year veteran of the department, was arrested Tuesday and remains jailed. It's unclear whether she has an attorney.

Bulicz is a member of the California National Guard. Prosecutors say she submitted fake documents that allowed her to take more than $5,400 worth of paid time off from the Police Department.
