Snapchat Threat Against Van Nuys High School Deemed Not Credible

VAN NUYS (CBSLA) — A threat against Van Nuys High School made on Snapchat was deemed to be not credible Monday morning, but LAPD maintained a visible presence on the campus out of an abundance of caution.

The Snapchat posts sounded like a conversation between two young people who know or are acquainted with each other.

One wrote, "Ima just kill everyone at vnhs"

The other asks her, "Do you even [speak] English"

The first person replies, "First you guys. Yup when I put a bullet in to head."

Van Nuys High School is located at Victory and Kester in Van Nuys.

The police said they would increased security, up their patrols and have extra school police on scene, as well.

Some parents said they would keep their children home out of an abundance of caution.
