Deadly Officer-Involved Shooting Occurs In Watts
WATTS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding a deadly officer-involved shooting in Watts.
LAPD Chief Charlie Beck took to Twitter Tuesday morning to post updates on the condition of the officer, who remains hospitalized at this time.

The shooting unfolded around 11 p.m. Monday near 112th and Antwerp streets in the Nickerson Gardens area.
According to police, two officers were patrolling the public housing project when they tried to approach a group.
The suspect took off running from the area and pulled a handgun on officers.
Police fired back, subsequently killing the suspect. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
At this time, no arrests have been made.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
