LAPD Officer Arrested For Attempted Murder Of His Wife

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles Police Department officer was being held Thursday on $2.5 million bond for the attempted murder of his wife.

Jose Robert Figueroa, 29, was arrested early Monday morning by Inglewood police, records show.

A complaint filed against Figueroa alleges that he attempted to kill his spouse and injured her in the process on Sunday.

He is also accused of making criminal threats against the unidentified woman.

Additional details about the arrest were not released.

Figueroa, who worked out of the Newton Division, had not entered a plea as of Wednesday afternoon. He is being held at the Men's Central Jail.

Figueroa will return to court Friday morning for a bail review hearing.
