LAPD Motorcycle Officer Reportedly Struck By DUI Driver

BOYLE HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — A LAPD motorcycle officer was reportedly struck by a suspected DUI driver Sunday evening in Boyle Heights.

The officer was transported to a nearby hospital.

Kevin Takumi, reporting in Sky9, said the officer was hit in East Los Angeles near 7th Street.

The officer was making a traffic stop on another vehicle when he was hit.

While flying overhead, Takumi said the officer appeared to be sitting up and alert.
