CBS News Los Angeles

Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that happened in Koreatown in late January.

It happened on Jan. 29 in the 1500 block of S. Gramercy place at around 9 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. They were sent to the area after receiving reports of a car that had struck a male pedestrian.

Upon arrival, they learned that a light-colored SUV was traveling westbound on Venice Boulevard when it struck the victim, only identified as a man, who was crossing the road on St. Andrews Place within a marked crosswalk, LAPD's statement said.

Instead of stopping to help, the driver continued northbound on Gramercy Place.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where they later died.

Anyone who knows more about the incident is asked to contact LAPD at (213) 473-0234.
