Police Pursue Man Reported With A Gun On Southland Freeways

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —  Police pursued a man reportedly armed from near Los Angeles International Airport into the high desert Friday, officials said.

The man was seen holding a gun by a Metro officer near 77th Street, authorities said.

The suspect is in a white Nissan headed east on the 105 Freeway and eventually ended up heading north on I-15.

The chase went through Lynwood, Hawthorne, Paramount, Norwalk, Azusa, Irwindale, San Dimas and Rancho Cucamonga and into the high desert communities of Apple Valley and Victorville.

The suspect was reportedly acting irrationally, Stu Mundel reported in Sky9,

The chase started just before 11 p.m. and went almost two hours.

CHP and LAPD said the man was taken into custody in Victorville without further incident.
