Former LAPD Detective Sentenced To 180 Days In Jail For 3 On-Duty Assaults

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A former Los Angeles police detective was sentenced Friday for assaulting three women who worked at separate massage parlors in the San Fernando Valley while on duty.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Oris Pace, 49, was ordered to 180 days in county jail and was placed on probation for three years.

Prosecutors said that at the time of the crimes, Pace acted as a supervisor in the LAPD division responsible for enforcing business permits, including those for massage parlors.

According to officials, Pace forced three women to undress or undressed them himself and then fondled them while on duty.

Officials said that Pace committed the crimes between January 2011 and January 2012, and was taken into custody Jan. 2, 2014.

In June, Pace entered a no-contest plea to three counts of assault, authorities said.

According to the District Attorney's Office, Pace is required to resign from the Los Angeles Police Department as part of his plea agreement.
