LAPD Creates Special YouTube Birthday Message For Rhode Island Boy Battling Leukemia

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Police Department created a heartfelt YouTube birthday message for a Rhode Island boy battling leukemia.

KCAL9's Rachel Kim reports Tyler Seddon is fighting his second battle with the disease.

On Thursday, Seddon turns 7, and his birthday wish is to get as many cards from his heroes: police officers, firefighters and first responders.

Officer Joel Morales grabbed his video camera and went to Chief Charlie Beck, the Air Support Unit, the Off-Road Unit, the Mounted Unit, SWAT, Traffic, and the K-9 Unit.

"There are tons of police men who don't like to be put on camera. But these guys were able to break their regular rules to help this kid out," Morales said.

As Seddon continues with chemotherapy, Morales hopes their messages will give him courage.

"It's amazing how much a kid can touch so many people," he said.
