2 LAPD Officers Injured After Cruiser Slams Into Power Pole

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles police cruiser has been involved in a traffic collision in the Pico-Robertson area, officials said Tuesday.

The cruiser slammed into a power pole just before 2:30 a.m., located on La Cienega Boulevard near Guthrie

Firefighters extricated two officers from the vehicle, and paramedics transported them to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.

Hospital officials say the officers are expected to survive their injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed the patrol car swerved to avoid another vehicle, just before it collided into the light pole.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
