LAPD Chief Charlie Beck Involved In 3-Vehicle Crash In Simi Valley

SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — LAPD Chief Charlie Beck was involved in a three-vehicle collision Wednesday night in Simi Valley.

Sky9's Stu Mundel said Beck was riding in a black SUV when the accident happened at 5:50 p.m. on the westbound 118 Freeway at Stearns Street.

Beck, 60, posted on Twitter that he was not injured.

Two passengers in the other vehicles were taken to Simi Valley Hospital with minor injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Beck's SUV was taken to a tow yard in Simi Valley. It will now be inspected by the LAPD Traffic Division.

An investigation is ongoing.
