The Los Angeles Police Department says Jose Manuel Silva Nieves, 20, of Maywood was declared brain dead Sunday after a physical altercation at a Hollywood nightclub.

According to the LAPD, the incident unfolded Saturday between 12:15 a.m. and 12:45 a.m. at the Cashmere Club in the 1700 block of North McCadden Place.
