Lancaster Murder Suspect, Surrounded By Family, Turns Himself In

LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — A man wanted for murder surrendered Friday at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Station in Lancaster.

Mario Jose Estrada, 23, was accompanied by several family members when he turned himself in. He was immediately taken into custody and booked for murder.

Estrada was identified as the suspect in a fatal shooting at about 7 a.m. Thursday in the 44700 block of Division Street in Lancaster.

Deputies arriving on the scene found a 35-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation led detectives to name Estrada as the suspect in the murder.

No court date has been set yet for Estrada, who is being held on $2 million bail.
