1 Killed, 8 Injured In Multi-Vehicle Crash On 14 Freeway In Lancaster

LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — One person was killed Tuesday in a multi-vehicle crash on the 14 Freeway in Lancaster.

The crash was reported just after 3:30 a.m. near the Avenue M exit, according to California Highway Patrol officers.

Upon their arrival, authorities pronounced one person dead at the scene. The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Paramedics treated eight other victims at the scene.

The number of vehicles involved in the crash was not immediately known.

Southbound lanes of the freeway will remain closed until further notice, officers said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
