Lancaster Couple Busted For Meth Possession Near Elementary School

LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — An Antelope Valley couple Thursday was facing several felony drug charges after being busted for methamphetamine possession near a Lancaster elementary school.

Francisco Nunez and his girlfriend, Veronica Garcia, were arrested Wednesday at a home in the 200 block of E. Avenue J-8, just north of Joshua Elementary School, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

A lengthy investigation led to a raid of the residence where deputies found a quarter-pound of meth, $500 in cash, a handgun and seized the suspects' vehicle.

The couple's 1-year-old child was also taken into protective custody.

Nunez and Garcia were being held on $100, 000 bail  at the Lancaster Station Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine for sales and child endangerment, among others.
