Lakers Waive Keith Appling, Jeremy Tyler

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (CBSLA.com/AP) — The Los Angeles Lakers have waived guard Keith Appling and forward Jeremy Tyler, reducing their training camp roster to 17 players.

The Lakers made the moves Monday.

Appling is a rookie from Michigan State. He played 20 minutes in two preseason games for the Lakers.

NBA Flash News tweeted that Appling will receive $6,000 from the Lakers, as he is being released while injured.

Tyler has played for Golden State, Atlanta and New York. He averaged 2.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in three preseason games with the Lakers.

Los Angeles, which rallied to beat the Utah Jazz 98-91 on Sunday night, faces the Phoenix Suns in Anaheim on Tuesday.
